Buckstaff Bathhouse
The Only Continuously Operating Bathhouse on Bathhouse Row
"Historic Bathhouse Row — Thermal Pools Since 1922"
Quapaw Baths & Spa sits on the iconic Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs National Park — the only national park built around a city's thermal waters. The beautifully restored 1922 bathhouse offers four large communal thermal pools, private baths, and a full-service spa. The thermal water emerges at 143°F from 47 springs within the national park and is cooled to soaking temperature before entering the pools.
Hot Springs National Park's Bathhouse Row was the premier health resort destination in America from the 1880s through the 1960s. The Quapaw Bathhouse, built in 1922 in Spanish Colonial Revival style, was restored and reopened in 2008 as a modern spa while preserving its stunning original architecture.
Large communal thermal pool, main soaking area
Cooler communal pool, good for longer soaks
Private soaking tubs in original bathhouse rooms
Combine with a visit to the Fordyce Bathhouse museum (free, NPS-operated) right next door — the original 1915 bathhouse is preserved in stunning detail and gives incredible context to the whole Bathhouse Row experience.
Quapaw Baths & Spa exceeded every expectation. The water temperature was perfect and the setting is stunning. We arrived early to beat the crowds — highly recommend doing the same.
Loved the mineral pools and the views. It does get crowded on Saturday afternoons so try to go mid-week if you can. Staff was friendly and the facilities were clean.
