"Six Pools on the Snake River in Jackson Hole"
Astoria Hot Springs Park sits on the banks of the Snake River just south of Jackson Hole, offering six soaking pools at varying temperatures in a stunning mountain setting. The park was rescued from abandonment by a nonprofit organization and reopened in 2018 as a community-focused, conservation-minded destination. The Snake River and Teton Range provide a dramatic backdrop for soaking.
Astoria Hot Springs operated as a resort from the 1930s until closing in 2000. The property sat abandoned for years until a nonprofit purchased it in 2014 and undertook a major restoration, reopening it as a public park with a focus on conservation and community access.
Largest pool, ideal for groups and families
Hottest pool for serious soakers
Cooler, shallow pool for families with kids
Longer pool for swimming laps
Book the first morning session (9 AM) — the light on the Tetons at that hour is extraordinary and crowds are minimal. The nonprofit model means your admission directly supports conservation.
Astoria Hot Springs exceeded every expectation. The water temperature was perfect and the setting is stunning. We arrived early to beat the crowds — highly recommend doing the same.
Loved the mineral pools and the views. It does get crowded on Saturday afternoons so try to go mid-week if you can. Staff was friendly and the facilities were clean.
