"Colorado's most charming small hot springs — private cabins, mountain views, and crystal-clear pools."

About This Location

Avalanche Ranch Hot Springs is a small, intimate hot springs resort tucked into the Crystal River Valley near Redstone, Colorado. The property features beautifully clear mineral pools, charming historic cabins, and sweeping views of the Elk Mountains. Unlike the larger Colorado resorts, Avalanche Ranch maintains a quiet, uncrowded atmosphere — it's the kind of place where you can actually hear the creek and the birds. Pets are welcome in the cabins and on the grounds.

History

The property has been a working ranch since the late 1800s, with the hot springs used by ranching families for generations. The current owners developed the hot springs into a small resort while preserving the historic ranch character and the surrounding agricultural landscape.

Insider Tip

This is the anti-Glenwood Springs — small, peaceful, and genuinely restorative. The cabins are cozy and well-appointed. Midweek visits are especially tranquil. The drive up the Crystal River Valley from Carbondale is one of Colorado's most beautiful.

Great soak, busy on weekends

Loved the mineral pools and the views. It does get crowded on Saturday afternoons so try to go mid-week if you can. Staff was friendly and the facilities were clean.
