North America's Only Multi-Mineral Hot Spring
"Desert Hot Springs with Clothing-Optional Pools"
Faywood Hot Springs is a clothing-optional desert retreat in southern New Mexico, offering a collection of private and communal soaking pools fed by a 130°F geothermal spring. The Chihuahuan Desert setting — with dramatic rock formations, saguaro cactus, and vast starry skies — creates an otherworldly atmosphere. The resort emphasizes simplicity, nature, and community.
The springs have been used since prehistoric times. The current resort has operated since the 1980s as a counter-culture destination that has gradually evolved into a respected wellness retreat.
Large communal clothing-optional pool
Six private soaking tubs, reservable by the hour
Unheated pool for cooling off between soaks
The stargazing here is world-class — the Chihuahuan Desert has some of the darkest skies in the continental US. Bring a star chart.
Faywood Hot Springs exceeded every expectation. The water temperature was perfect and the setting is stunning. We arrived early to beat the crowds — highly recommend doing the same.
Loved the mineral pools and the views. It does get crowded on Saturday afternoons so try to go mid-week if you can. Staff was friendly and the facilities were clean.
